We have a client who became tired watching her 4-year-old struggle opening sandwiches wrapped in cling film and sick of listening to her three eldest rant about the damage to the environment foil, plastic and cling film can make.
So instead of dishing out the usual punishments or becoming a fan of boxed wine she decided to do something about it. Shauna developed the Paper Lunch Bags an environmentally friendly alternative made with greaseproof paper.
We agree that having a packaging company already helps with the development of the new product but we love the idea of going retro and so apparently did Superquinn, Tesco and Supervalu stores who are stocking them for her!
When we heard about Shauna we looked up some facts.
There are over 492,000 primary school children in Ireland each bringing in over 2 million packed lunches weekly which could mean 80 million sandwiches per year, that’s an awful lot of school yard rubbish to bin and dispose of!
Fair play to Shauna for seeing the problem and finding a solution. Recycle, reuse and keep fresh the retro way – that what we think anyway!
